Ryerson Steel

New manufacturing facility for Ryerson steel in Centralia, WA.  The 212,000 SF facility included 200,000sf of PEMB with concrete tilt up walls and 12,000 sf of office.  The manufacturing slab was 10” thick with fiber reinforcing.  Multiple large pits were installed for their manufacturing equipment, along with (8) 35-40 ton 100’ span bridge cranes. The project featured a rail spur running through the building, allowing rail cars to be loaded under cover and with the assistance of a crane. Concrete tilt walls are featured with a parapet wall, surrounding the primary PEMB structure.


Award: This building won the Gold Excellence in Design award presented by American Buildings which highlights the “diverse application and expanding boundaries of metal systems construction”.
